At the Palace Hotel, sustainable programs are a top priority. Below is a brief list of initiatives currently in place to minimize effects on our environment and help us deliver green meetings in San Francisco.   • Separate waste stream and recyclables
  • Separate “green waste” to become compost for local Sonoma County farms, equal to 25% of our entire waste stream
  • Cooking and lubricating oil recycling – cooking oil re-processed into bio-diesel
  • Dedicated use of energy efficient electrical equipment throughout building
  • InnConn thermostat system in guest rooms, regulates heating and cooling by sensor to ensure unoccupied rooms do not waste energy
  • Member of Building Energy Coalition of San Francisco, coordinating power flexing during peak need times among the city’s largest commercial users
  • Contribute to less waste by avoiding purchase of individually wrapped amenities, holding an environmental purchasing policy and using recycled products
  • Offering reuse program of linens for extended stay guests with our Make a Green Choice program
  • State-of-the-art electronic dimmer controls throughout meeting space
  • Occupancy sensors in all public areas
  • CORY (Commercial Recycler of the Year) Award winner
